Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program Update – 21 May 2026

The Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program has announced an important update for the 2025–26 program year. Due to strong demand for state nomination, Registrations of Interest (ROIs) for all pathways and passes will officially close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

Applicants considering Tasmania as their migration destination are encouraged to review their eligibility and prepare their applications as early as possible.

Key Program Updates

  • ROI submissions for all pathways will close on 3 June 2026
  • The final invitation round for the 2025–26 program year will take place on Thursday, 4 June 2026
  • Migration Tasmania will resume accepting new ROIs once the 2026–27 program year begins
  • Applications for nomination can still be lodged; however, limited nomination places remain available
  • Approved applications may be nominated after Tasmania receives its new allocation for the 2026–27 program year
  • ROIs not invited this program year will remain active in the Application Gateway for six months and may be considered when the new program opens

What This Means for Skilled Migrants

This update reflects the increasing demand for skilled migration pathways in Tasmania. Applicants who are currently planning to apply for state nomination should act quickly to ensure they do not miss the current intake period.

Candidates who already have a valid ROI submitted may still receive an invitation before the final round. However, with limited places remaining, invitations are expected to be highly competitive.
